November 24, 2011 Press Release 16 days campaign on violence against Women Today, on 24th November, 2011, at 11:45 am, a press meet was held in the hall of National Women's Commission. The aim of the press meet was to announce the commencement of 16 days campaign on violence against women. According to the secretary Dr. Badri Pokhrel, 16 day campaign will begin from 25th November to 10th December 2011. He shared the details of all the programs of Commission for observing 16 days campaign. This year, NWC, in the capacity of high level government management committee, is planning to observe 16 day campaign under the establishment of two committees: 1. Steering committee under the chairmanship of Minister of Women, children and Social welfare Ministry. 2. Management committee under the chairmanship of National women's commission. He even sheds light on all the recent activities of the Commission. Meanwhile, member of National Women's commission Ms. Mohna Anshari highlighted the role of media in the context of eliminating violence against women. She even added that National Women's Commission will monitor all the cases of violence against women collected through the primary source i.e. on the basis of direct complains and through secondary sources i.e. newspapers and televisions.
